"It's not just an errand," I correct her, and I feel my brow knitting against the cowl. Surely, she's heard of Rapture. Surely, she must have heard of what happened down there, someone must have told her, she must have been curious enough to look. All of these thoughts swirl through my mind, none of them highly important, and yet all of them central to her, and to the ways in which I must react to her actions and words alike. If she, indeed, has no interest in Rapture— prior to this point— then that only solidifies the fact that she is a civilian. Someone I must keep a distance from, even as Bruce, instead keeping everything light and casual.
