Running may only further arouse suspicion. So I hold still, eyes narrowing from behind opaque lenses. If there's something about the design of my uniform that must be impressed upon as a smart choice, it's the cowl. It covers enough of my face to allow for that instant change in expression. I don't need to hide what my eyes give away in the dark of the night, and removing that level of deliberation can be precisely what one needs to respond fully to reflex. Has even saved lives, I imagine.
